Dieter De Baere was born in the year 1982 in Bruges, Belgium. He finished his master in industrial sciences and technology in electro-mechanical engineering at the KHBO in Ostend in 2004. He received the degree of electro-mechanical engineering in aeronautics from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in June 2006. From 2006 to 2011 he worked as a Test & Development engineer for the company “Asco Industries”, Weiveldlaan 2, B-1930 Zaventem active in the aeronautical industry. During this period at Asco Industries he has been active in uni-axial and multi-axial static testing, fatigue and damage tolerance testing and tribological testing for research program and commercial certification testing of primary structural aircraft components. From 2011 to 2012 he worked as Stress Engineer in the same company. In 2012 he rejoined VUB as a PhD student and started a doctoral thesis. Up
