    Julien Ertveldt was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1989. He received a masters degree in Applied Engineering: Electromechanics Vehicle technology from the Erasmushogeschool Brussel in 2011. That same year he started a PhD in collaboration between the research group Acoustics and Vibrations (AVRG) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (MECH) and the Department of Fundamental Electricity and Instrumentation (ELEC), both from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In 2012 he paused his PhD to study an additional Msc. in Aerospace Vehicle Design at Cranfield University (UK). In 2013 he resumed his PhD on application and development of system identification techniques for time-varying systems to the problem of aeroelastic flutter. His main research interests are situated in the field of aeroelasticity, modal analysis, system identification and wind tunnel testing.
