Rasoul Shirzadeh was born in Isfahan, Iran. He received his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (Thermo-Fluid) from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), in 2007. He finished his master studies in Aerospace Engineering (aero-structure) in Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), in 2009. He joined the department of Mechanical Engineering of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in January 2010 where he is a PhD-student in the Acoustic & Vibration Research Group (AVRG). He is mainly interested in the field of Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI), Aeroelasticity of wind turbines, Offshore Wind Turbines and Operational Modal Analysis. He is now involved in the Offshore Wind Infrastructure Project (www.owi-lab.be) which aims to increase the reliability and efficiency of offshore wind farms by investing in testing and monitoring of an offshore wind turbine in the Belgian north sea.
