Jelle Saldien was born in 1981. He received the degree in study of Electronic Industrial Engineering at the De Nayer Instituut in 2003 and the degree in Product Development at the Hogeschool Antwerpen in 2005. He is researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel since 2005 and received his PhD in Applied Engineering in December 2009. The focus of his research is the design and development of the social robot Probo and the control software with the implementation of emotions and facial expressions.
