Bio

Zhanwei Wang received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from Northeastern University, China, and his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. His research focuses on soft robotics, with particular emphasis on stimulus-responsive materials, soft matter, and their interactions with fluid mechanics. His postdoctoral work, conducted in collaboration with IMEC, has translated advances in soft grippers into applications for industry and logistics. More broadly, his research aims to advance embodied intelligence and programmable behaviors in robotic systems.
