Hamed obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry from Sharif University of Technology, with his master's project focusing on the development of organic hydrogels for supercapacitor applications. To pursue his PhD studies, he joined the Electrical Engineering department at Aarhus University in Denmark. Throughout his doctoral research, he worked on developing piezoelectric inkjet inks with improved electrical properties for production of flexible sensors and energy harvesters.
Prior to commencing his PhD, he spent two years as an R&D specialist in the ink and printing industry, where he formulated inks for various printing methods, including offset, screen, flexography, gravure, and inkjet. Currently, he serves as a postdoctoral researcher at VUB University, contributing to the European Union's SHINTO projects. These initiatives are geared towards elevating the technology readiness level (TRL) of self-healing polymers, with applications spanning soft robotics and 3D printing.
