In 2023, I received my Master degree in Electromechanical Engineering (specialization Robotics and Mechanical Construction) with highest honours. My master thesis, entitled "Object Detection for Authoring XR Factory Workplaces" was awarded the BrEA student prize.
Since September 2023, I am working as a PhD researcher at the Robotics & Multibody Mechanics research group, at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Here, I am using musculoskeletal simulations of the human body to optimize exoskeletons to a specific subject. My research interests include musculoskeletal modelling & simulation, as well as human-in-the-loop optimization and exoskeleton control. In my work, I am mainly using OpenSim and the Biomechanics of Bodies (BoB) software.
I am also a teaching assistant at the VUB, responsible for the mechanics courses in civil engineering (Ingenieurswetenschappen – Werktuigkunde en Elektrotechniek), in the first and second bachelor years.
Interests
- Musculoskeletal modelling, predictive musculoskeletal simulations
- Human-In-the-Loop Optimization (HILO)
- Exoskeleton control & modelling
- Optimization algorithms, optimal control & machine learning
- Data visualization
Competencies
- Simulation (OpenSim, Biomechanics of Bodies)
- Coding (MATLAB, Python)
- Data processing & visualization
