Milan Amighi was born in Brussels, Belgium, in 2000. He spent four years studying in Valencia, Spain, before attending university. He earned his Bachelor's degree in electromechanical engineering from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels in 2021. He then pursued a Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, and Mechanical Construction Engineering through the BRUFACE program, a collaborative effort between Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and ULB, completing it in 2023.
During his studies, particularly while working on his Master's thesis, Milan focused on sensor implementation and robot control to enhance security and foster better collaboration between humans and cobots at the Brubotics lab.
Currently, he is pursuing a PhD at the Brubotics lab in partnership with Melexis, aiming to develop 3D force sensors for various robotic applications such as exoskeletons, grippers, and robot skins. He is also involved with the SAFEBOT group, a project dedicated to improving the safety of human-robot interactions through the implementation of dynamic interaction sensors
