Innes Vanderniepen was born in Aalst, Belgium, in 1983. She received the degree in study of Mechanical Engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2006. Currently, she's a researcher and teaching assistant. Her research is situated in the area of rehabilitation robotics, with a focus on the development of an active elbow orthosis powered by MACCEPA actuators.
