Rino Versluys was born in Eeklo, Belgium, in 1980. He received the degree in study of Electro-Mechanical Engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2005. Since 2005 he is researcher and teaching assistant at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The focus of his research is the development of an intelligent ankle prosthesis actuated by pleated pneumatic artificial muscles.
