Pieter Beyl was born in Anderlecht (Brussels, Belgium) in 1982. He received the master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2005 and his PhD in Engineering Sciences in 2010.
His research is in the field of rehabilitation robotics, aiming at the design, construction and control of powered exoskeletons for gait training in mobility impaired patients.
