We are both students at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. As a result of a project of mechatronics, a course given in the education of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the VUB, we invented our own project: Saloon Shooting. Things left to do...

• Add a huge start button
• Keep track of the number of shots fired, and after the game calculate the hit/fired ratio.
• Make a laser gun
• Add sounds when a cowboy is hit
• Connect the laser to the PIC, and make the pic control the laser (so that you can't keep on shining with the laser)

Problems along the way...

• RA4 is an open drain when configured as an output. This means you should place a pull-up resistance behind it.
• The relays consist of a winded coil. When switched on or off, this gives perturbations in the circuit which caused the PIC to reset. This is solved by placing a diode parallel over the coil (in the correct direction).
• Robin
• Problems with programming were solved by placing an 18 pF capacitor between the RB6 pin and the GND. The capacitors by the clock crystal were also replaced from 18pF to 10pF.
• The contacts of wire connecting the displays with the back often got loose.
